The ultimate outdoor workout

So today I woke up early and did a 4 min fast workout (see earlier on blog) before a 3 mile run.  I hate running early in the morning so it was a big deal. I came back and had organic oatmeal with almond butter, organic salted butter, raw honey, and sea salt in it. I don't really like oatmeal but it was awesome!!! Then I drove 2 hrs to a friends lake house for a party. I spent the entire day swimming to different destinations on the lake (because I was determined not to hitch a ride on the back of any of the boats and get a workout in stead), kayaking, and going for a long walk/run with all my friends.  It was incredible because even when I wasn't moving I was still treading water.  It just reminded me that as much as I love working out with weights and strength exercises there is something so wonderful about natural exercise.

beach

So I haven't posted anything in a long time.  I ran 3 miles every day this week so far and most of them were on the board walk.  It was lovely with the sun and the breeze.  Rehobeth now has markers on their boardwal as well to be able to see how far you have run.  Along with that I rode bikes with my dad for 3+hrs and played tennis.  I realize I need to start 30 day shred or more intense workouts again...

A Gift

So this evening I came home stressed and exhausted. I just finished my first 2 exams and have to go in for my hardest and biggest exam tomorrow, chemistry.  I decided to go for a run and ended up getting 4 miles in with the lovely cold.  On my last mile there was a huge golden harvest moon right on the horizon.  It was probably the biggest one I ever seen.  I took it as a sign and a gift from God just telling me that everything would be alright and that he was there. :)

First final today and forgot my running shoes at a friend's house. I didn't have much time so I did 2 sets of these.  They aren't the most painful workouts but it gets your heart going. After the first round or so the timing is super simple.

the reward

So yesterday was a horrible running day and I came home determined for today to be better.  My first mile felt awful but I finished with my fastest time this year of an 8:07.  My second mile was even worse. My legs turned to led and by the 2/3 mark I was way behind my time. I got mad at myself and pulled the ipod out of my ear as punishment (usually music makes me faster).  I pushed myself all the way home and got a 7:47! Now, to anyone else that seems like an average or bad time but it was really exciting for me.  I walked another mile with my mom and finished up with P90X+ abs and some yoga.  It was a good day...now to study for my 1st final

My friend Jeanne

So I haven't shared this blog with anyone because it is mostly just for me but I wanted to share something with the few people who will happen to read it.  I know she prob won't ever read it but one of the people who keeps me going is my friend Jeanne. She is quite honestly one of the most amazing girls I know.  She watches after me and makes sure that I'm staying healthy.  She never pushes it or is mean.  She just asks.  It is so wonderful to have a friend like that and I am incredibly lucky. Jeanne if you ever read this thank you. I love you girly

Wet Run

My ipod is in a bag of rice and my clothes are hanging in the shower but I love running in the rain.  I had good times except that I felt awful. It was prob due to the pizza...3mls and I ran the gravel hill part which always kills me. Hoping to run more and do circuits tomorrow

PS Danced all last night which should count for something I'm thinking :)

Began running my 1st mile and felt pretty rough with a slushy belly but ended up running it with a negative split of 8;30. I ran up to my house to grab some food and realized I still had time to run before dinner. I went out and ran 2 more miles totaling just under 16min.  That means that the 3 miles together came out at 24:30!!!!!!!!!! which would just beat my PR. Now I took a break in between but didn't feel like I was pushing myself super hard.  I know it is a little thing but freaking out!!!!!!!!! In other news my XC coach is leaving after 20 some years and it looks like I will be a bigger part leading the team next year. Just hoping I can push myself hard enough that they see me as dedicated and not just someone who wants to lead but knows nothing about work. It was a good day :)

So along with the ml I said earlier I did circuits in my room w alot of arms and some yoga.  My right quad is tender.  I ate a milkshake, a smoothie, chick-fil-a, and chips today which is awful but finished with mag calm in coconut water which is still disgusting ;p all together a neutral day.
Last week I did 3 miles with the first being 8:30.  This week, I did 5 and 3 in the rain and just 1 with a 8:30 ml.  Feeling good...can't wait for the season to start.
